The Greens have welcomed the move to waive public transport fares today but urge the State Government to make it free every day.
"Today's free day will be welcome news to many commuters," said Greens Transport Spokesperson, Robert Simms MLC.
"The Government should go further however and make public transport free every day. Rather than just a one-off day, a 6 or 12 month trial of free public transport would provide meaningful relief to families struggling during this cost of living crisis and provide the Government with some useful data on the uptake of the service."
