Research Officer / Parliamentary Advisor
Robert Simms MLC, Greens Member of the Legislative Council is seeking a Research Officer / Parliamentary Advisor to join his office team and help serve the people of South Australia in state parliament.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide expert and timely advice on priority, complex and sensitive policy, public administration and political issues.
- Provide briefings and advice to the member on the work of relevant parliamentary committees.
- Provide strategic advice and support on policy and parliamentary matters
- Conduct high level research
- Analyse and prepare reports and briefing notes on policy and related matters.
- Draft materials for parliament, including speech notes, motions and questions
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Assist with communications strategy and media liaison
- Other office duties as directed by the Member
This is an ongoing position (subject to a 12 month probation period) based in the member’s Office at Parliament House, North Tce.
The position is paid at a salary equivalent to ASO6-01, within the Public Sector with a commencement salary of $98,478 per annum. In addition to their annual salary the position will also receive a 15% overtime allowance for work performed outside of normal working hours.
