Greens urge corflute ban ahead of Dunstan by-election

7 February 2024

The SA Greens have renewed their calls for State Parliament to ban corflutes on public spaces ahead of the looming Dunstan by-election.

“Corflutes are bad for our environment and irritating for residents. It’s a shame that once again, the people of Dunstan will be forced to endure this pollution of their public space in the weeks ahead,” said Robert Simms MLC.

“The Greens supported the push by the previous Liberal Government to ban corflutes ahead of the last state election. Unfortunately, this was narrowly defeated.”

“The Opposition have a bill before Parliament to ban corflutes. I urge Labor to finally see sense and fast track this bill through the Parliament,” said Mr Simms.

Mr Simms has written to the Premier urging him to move on the issue.
