The Greens have expressed alarm at a proposal from the SA Motorsport Board to turn 16,000 square metres of the Park Lands into a car park during the Adelaide 500.
“The Motorsport Board’s plan is yet another erosion of our city’s iconic green space. Adelaide should be a city in a park, not a city in a car park,” Greens MLC Robert Simms said.
“Many South Australians will question whether an RV park and a car race are the best use of our city’s iconic green space in the middle of a climate emergency.”
