Momentum continues to build for SA Greens after another strong by-election result.
The strong result for the SA Greens at yesterday’s Black by-election is further evidence that support for the party is continuing to grow across the state.
Quotes attributable to Greens SA Co-Leader, Robert Simms MLC:
“For the third by-election in a row the SA Greens have grown our vote and secured a strong swing. It’s clear that momentum for the Greens is continuing to build.”
“This bodes very well for the next federal election, with Sturt a seat that the Greens have a strong chance to win. We are also on track to make gains at the 2026 state election, with Heysen and Unley very much in play.”
“These results really are an endorsement of the vision the SA Greens are offering to the people of our state and will surely send a shiver down the spine of the Liberal Party. While the Liberals are focussing on themselves and their divisive factional games, the Greens are offering real policy solutions and playing a constructive role in the parliament.”
Quotes attributable to Greens candidate for Black Sarah Luscombe:
“I’m really proud of the campaign the Greens ran in Black. We spoke to voters about the issues that mattered to them.
In particular, I think this result sends a message that locals want more action on the cost of living and the environment. There’s also a strong desire for more investment in public services.”
“I congratulate Alex Dighton on his election and wish him all the best in representing our community.”
