Labor’s plan to build hundreds of public homes falls well short of what’s required to fix the state’s housing affordability crisis, warn the Greens.
“While of course we welcome any plan to build more public housing, with thousands of people on the housing wait list building 400 new homes really is just a drop in the ocean,” said Greens Housing Spokesperson, Robert Simms MLC.
“SA is suffering from a chronic shortage of social and affordable housing after years of under-investment from Labor and the Liberals. No matter who is in Government, the Greens will fight for the investment in housing SA desperately needs.”
Last year the Greens announced a costed plan to build 40,000 public homes over 4 years.
