The SA Greens will introduce a Private Members Bill today to make public transport free for the next 6 months to provide relief to South Australians struggling with the fuel crisis.
“While other states have made public transport free during this fuel crisis, Premier Malinauskus and Labor have been missing in action. My Private Members Bill will make public transport free for the next 6 months. With inflation and the cost of living skyrocketing out of control, South Australians need urgent relief," said Robert Simms MLC.
"This is a test for the Labor Government. Rather than spending $45 on its white-elephant golf course redevelopment it should spend this money on free public transport. I plan to bring my bill to a vote in coming weeks, and I urge other parties to get on board."
