Greens SA Health Spokesperson Robert Simms is in Canberra today to visit the nation’s first fixed-site pill and drug testing clinic.
The clinic, which opened in Canberra in July, is a six-month pilot program. It analyses the contents of drugs and provides appropriate information, counselling, and advice to encourage choices that reduce drug use and the harms associated with taking drugs.
Surveys have consistently revealed widespread public support for pill testing. Back in July Mr Simms called for the Malinauskas Labor Government to monitor the trial and he plans to raise the issue in State Parliament next week.
