Greens Call On Marshall To Reject Radioactive Subs Plan

16th September 2021

The SA Greens are calling on Premier Marshall to reject the Liberals’ latest submarine deal and instead seek funding for essential public services in the state.

Quotes attributable to SA Greens Leader, Tammy Franks MLC:

“We have a housing crisis, we have a hospital crisis, rather than pumping billions of dollars into submarines, Steven Marshall should be seeking funding for these essential services and local jobs”.

“Other than defence where could anyone waste $2 billion and spin it as a good news story?”

“Will Premier Marshall simply kow-tow to Scott Morrison and the US or will he fight for the best interests of SA?”

Quotes attributable to SA Greens Energy Spokesperson, Robert Simms MLC:

“Many South Australians will be concerned that this move to build radioactive war machines is a curtain-raiser for a new nuclear industry in our state.”

“The Government should be investing in clean, green jobs for the future, not the toxic nuclear industry that poses so much risk to community health and our environment,” he said.

The SA Greens team committed to joining their federal colleagues in Canberra in doing everything they can to reject the plan.
