The State Government should reject a bid from the Walker Corporation to build a second tower on Festival Plaza say the Greens.
“It’s outrageous that the Walker Corporation were granted exclusive use of this Park Lands site in the first place. The tower overshadowing Parliament House is a monstrous symbol of the power of developers in our democracy,” said Greens MLC Robert Simms.
“A second tower would further diminish North Terrace, undermine the heritage values of our historic Parliament House and further privatise our public space. The Government should reject this application,’ he said.
