The Greens are calling on the State Government to step up the vaccination program for monkeypox as SA records three new cases of the disease today.
“While we only have a handful of confirmed monkeypox cases right now, we know from our experience with COVID-19 how quickly infection can spread unless control measures are put in place,” said Greens SA Health Spokesperson Robert Simms MLC.
“The State Government must ensure that monkeypox vaccines are accessible and work with the most affected populations to make sure people receive evidence-based communications and advice about how to keep themselves safe.”
“We have the tools and the knowledge to stop the spread of this disease. Putting these tools to use early will be essential for protecting people’s health.”
