The Greens are calling for the State Government to make pill testing available at future music festivals, as Wayville prepares to host ‘Groovin the Moo.’
“Canberra’s Groovin the Moo hosted pop up pill testing trials back in 2018 and 2019. The trial in 2019 identified lethal substances that were disposed of - potentially saving lives,” said Greens Health Spokesperson, Robert Simms MLC.
“It’s a real shame that the South Australian Government isn’t showing the same leadership at our state’s Groovin the Moo. Pop up pill testing should be trialled at future music festivals here in SA.”
“Sadly, South Australia is really falling behind when it comes to adopting a sensible, harm minimisation approach to drugs. We need to take our lead from best practice in other jurisdictions like the ACT.”
Mr Simms visited the nation's first fixed pill testing site in Canberra last year and has been calling for the Government to establish a similar facility in Adelaide.
