As petrol prices in SA climb to their highest level in 14 years, the Greens have renewed calls to make public transport free.
“Mr. Marshall and Mr. Malinauskas could take some immediate action to relieve cost of living pressures on families in the final days of the election campaign by committing to make public transport free,” said Greens Transport Spokesperson, Robert Simms MLC.
“Free public transport would provide an alternative to those struggling to deal with the skyrocketing cost of petrol – as well as reducing congestion and carbon emissions.”
Mr. Simms said pushing to improve the state’s public transport network and encouraging active transport would continue to be key priorities for him if he’s returned to the parliament.
