One Nation sides with Labor to back golf course redevelopment and kill off transparency

21 May 2026

A motion from the Greens to oppose the golf course redevelopment and instead spend $45m on cost of living relief was defeated in the Upper House last night, after One Nation voted with Labor to kill off the push.

“One Nation have failed their first big test in the parliament. Despite all the hype, they folded like a cheap suit today and propped up Labor's deeply unpopular North Adelaide Golf Course redevelopment plan,” said Greens MLC Robert Simms.

“This is a slap in the face to all those in the community who have been urging a rethink on the golf course.”

“The Greens were willing to accommodate an amendment from the Liberals to refocus the motion on seeking a business case for the redevelopment, but even then, One Nation weren't willing to stand up for South Australians.”

“South Australians should feel deeply let down by One Nation's capitulation to Labor.”

“The Greens won’t stop fighting for the Park Lands to get the protection they deserve.”
